Diagnosis
Your treatment initially involves a
full consultation, including assessment using the traditional methods of tongue and pulse diagnosis and the palpation of various points on the body. From this information the most appropriate treatment for your individual diagnosis is selected. Treating the patient as an individual is at the core of traditional Chinese medical treatment, and is what allows the body to rebalance itself.
Cupping
Invigorates the energy and blood circulation of the body through the application of vacuum cups to the body. It is extremely effective in the treatment of back pain, sports injuries and other musculoskeletal problems, with the results similar to having an excellent deep tissue massage.
Moxibustion
The application of warmth to acupuncture points using the herb moxa (mugwort). Moxa is burnt on or near the skin, providing a pleasant and penetrating heat which is absorbed by the body, resulting in an agreeable feeling of relaxation and well-being.
Dietary Therapy
Food is medicine, your diet can be assessed using Chinese dietary theory to check whether your food is causing you health problems. Specific foods may be recommended to be used medicinally.
Chi Kung Therapy and Self-Treatment:
Chi Kung is the meditative cultivation of energy. As part of your treatment plan specific Chi Kung exercises and acupressure massage may be prescribed to support your treatment.
